In our olympic weightlifting class you will find no met-cons or anything of the sort. We address the individual’s flexibility, strength, coordination, neuromuscular control, and most importantly, mental engagement in approaching the lifts. We teach the sport of olympic weightlifting as more than a way to look good or get strong (it will do both), but more as a paradox of life in teaching valuable components of working hard, perfecting/refining technique,being honest about yourself, as well as holding yourself and others to a higher standard of achievement. A typical workout at a Saturday clinic will take the individual through one particular aspect of the sport such as the Snatch, clean, jerk, clean/jerk, or assistance lifts such as front squats, pulling movements, RDL’s, etc. We take pride in our approach in coaching grass-roots lifters who have little to no exposure to the sport and transforming them into technically sound lifters whose lifts can pass at a USAW sanctioned meet. The olympic weightlifting coaching staff can also improve the intermediate-advanced lifter to improve their programming, technique, or outlook on the sport. We have observed everyone from complete beginners to national-level lifters benefit from our approach.
